Licences
What you may do with Read3d, and the open-source work it is built on. This page describes Read3d 26.9.29.
Read3d
Read3d is © 2026 Matridge. All rights reserved.
It is free to download and free to use, for personal and commercial work alike. There is no trial period, no account and no paid tier. Your files stay yours: Read3d reads them from your disk and claims nothing in them.
Read3d is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. Matridge is not liable for any loss that comes from using it.
Qt and the LGPL
Read3d's interface is built with Qt, through Qt for Python (PySide6), used under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3. Read3d is a separate work that uses these libraries; it is not derived from them.
- The Qt and PySide6 libraries ship as separate files inside the Read3d folder. You may replace them with your own compatible builds.
- Their source code is at code.qt.io.
- Nothing in Read3d's own terms stops you modifying those libraries, or reverse engineering Read3d to debug such modifications.
